Select Configure»External Viewers to launch the Configure External Viewers dialog box, in which you can specify both the external viewer, such as Microsoft Notepad or Microsoft Edge, and the report format, such as text ( .txt ), or HTML ( .html ) files.

The Configure External Viewers dialog box contains the following options:

• Viewers —A list of external viewer applications TestStand associates with specific report file extensions. When you select a viewer in the list control or click Add , the following controls display the settings for the selected viewer:
  • Viewer —The pathname of the external viewer application.
  • Format —The file extension of the file, such as .txt , .html , or .doc .
  • Arguments —The arguments to pass to the viewer. Use the keyword %filename to designate the report file in the argument.
  • Automatically Launch Viewer —Directs TestStand to open the report file in the specified external viewer application when an execution completes.

  Click Add to add an entry to the viewer list. Click Delete to remove an entry.

• Automatically Launch Default External Viewers —Specifies that when an execution completes and you do not specify an external viewer for a file format, TestStand opens the file in the application Microsoft Windows associates with the file extension.
