Choose Code Template Dialog Box
Click Create Code on the Source Code tab of the Specify Module dialog box to launch the Choose Code Template dialog box. TestStand only launches this dialog box when more than one code template is configured for the step type.
The Choose Code Template dialog box contains a list control with the following columns:
- Description —The description for the code template.
- Name —The name of the code template.
- Show Legacy Templates in List —Enable this option to show legacy templates in the list control.
The following options are also available when you select a legacy template:

Optional Parameters for Legacy Templates
—Specifies which of the following optional parameters you want to include as input parameters for the VI:
- Input Buffer —An optional parameter you can wire to the connector pane of the VI. This option dims if the Step.InBuf property does not exist for the step you are editing. For example, the Input Buffer control dims for an Action step.
- Sequence Context ActiveX Pointer —An optional parameter you can wire to the connector pane of the VI.
- Invocation Info —An optional parameter you can wire to the connector pane of the VI.
