Configuration Page (Shared Variable Node Properties Dialog Box)

Right-click a Shared Variable node on the block diagram and select Properties from the shortcut menu to display the Properties dialog box. To configure multiple Shared Variable nodes simultaneously, select all the Shared Variable nodes you want to configure on the block diagram. Then right-click one of the Shared Variable nodes and select Properties from the shortcut menu. Then select the Configuration tab to display this page.

Use this page to configure the shared variable path, access type, IOV local access type, reference mode, timeout, and timestamp of one or more Shared Variable nodes.

Option Description
Select Variable Specifies a shared variable for the Shared Variable node(s) to access.
  • Path—Configures the path to the shared variable for the Shared Variable node(s) to access.
  • Browse—
Access Type Configures the Shared Variable node(s) to read or write data.
  • Read—Configures the Shared Variable node(s) to read data.
  • Write—Configures the Shared Variable node(s) to write data.
IOV Local Access Type Configures the local access mode of an I/O variable.
  • Direct—Configures the Shared Variable node(s) to use direct I/O variable access.
  • Scanned—Configures the Shared Variable node(s) to use scanned I/O variable access.
Reference Mode Configures the reference mode for the Shared Variable node(s).
  • Absolute—Configures the Shared Variable node(s) to connect to the shared variable using an absolute reference.
  • Target Relative—Configures the Shared Variable node(s) to connect to the shared variable using a target-relative reference.
Show Sets whether to show or hide optional Shared Variable node terminals.
  • Timeout—

    Sets whether to show the ms timeout terminal of the Shared Variable node(s).

  • Timestamp—

    Sets whether to show the timestamp terminal of the Shared Variable node(s).
