New Features and Changes
Learn about updates—including new features and behavior changes—introduced in each version of the LabVIEW FPGA Module.
LabVIEW FPGA Module 2022 Q3 Changes
- New I/O Module Properties node added. Use this node with the Module constant to view properties for CompactRIO devices.
LabVIEW FPGA Module 2020 Changes
- Support for C Series FPGA targets.
- The Open FPGA VI Reference node has the following changes:
- The Convert to Fixed-Point tab is deprecated. This option provided tools to convert floating-point data types to fixed-point.
- The RIO address input is renamed device name.
- The Deploy from file run mode is no longer available.
- The Run FPGA Simulation node is renamed Run GCDL Simulation.
- The Set Output Enable (Clock-Driven Logic) node has the following
changes:
- Terminals added for error in and error out.
- The enable input is renamed enable?.
LabVIEW FPGA Module 2019 Changes
- Access memory items outside a clock-driven loop.
- Non-functional terminals removed from I/O channel nodes.
- The LabVIEW FPGA Module is no longer required to perform the following tasks:
- Access FPGA targets in the Design view palette of SystemDesigner.
- View or edit FPGA code.
- Deploy bitfiles (.lvbitx) to FPGA targets.
- Migrate LabVIEW FPGA functions to LabVIEW.
- The LabVIEW FPGA Module and relevant drivers are required to perform the following
tasks:
- Use driver-specific features in your FPGA code.
- Run or compile FPGA code.
- Migrate LabVIEW FPGA code that relies on specific drivers to LabVIEW..
- Compile FPGA code locally without manually setting up the FPGA compiler environment.
- Configure an FPGA resource constant to display the namespace in the resource name.
