Using Education or Training Credits

Education Service Credits and Enterprise Agreement (EA) Training Credits provide flexibility to decide who participates in training and when. You can redeem them for any education services offering, for any user, within one year of purchase. Find a course, date, and location you are interested in, then register for the course to use your credits.

How it works

How do I use or redeem my Education Service Credits?

  • You can use credits to purchase public and private, classroom and virtual training courses. You can also purchase self-paced on-demand training materials and certification exams.

  • The tables below indicate the cost in credits for instructor-led courses and exams. On-demand training materials cost 5 Education Service Credits, although many are free. Find a course or exam you're interested in and select the name for an overview of content. For instructor-led formats, view the course schedule to pick a convenient date and location. If you have more than 5 attendees at your company, you can also organize a private in-classroom or virtual training.

  • Contact us to register for a course, get access to on-demand content or purchase an exam using credits. You will need to provide:

            o NI Order Number

            o Attendee details

o Desired course or exam details

How do I use or redeem my EA Training Credits?

  • You can use credits to purchase public and private, classroom and virtual training courses, as well as certification exams. Your enterprise agreement includes access to on-demand training without needing to redeem any credits.

  • The tables below indicate the cost in credits for instructor-led courses and exams. Find a course or exam you're interested in below. Select the name for an overview of the content. For instructor-led formats, view the course schedule and pick a convenient date and location. If you have more than 5 attendees at your company, you can also organize a private in-classroom or virtual training for your company.

  • All requests for instructor-led training should go through the Company Training Approver. Once they have approved a request, send it to services@ni.com for registration.

  • A Training Credit Approver is an identified contact at your company that will manage and approve the use of training credits included in an Enterprise Agreement. They will work with NI’s Education Services team to schedule courses. Other contacts at your company can help with the coordination of courses, usually on-sites, as long as the training credit approver has given approval to move forward. If you are an end user of NI software and training and are not sure who your training credit approver is, please contact us to find out.

Do Education or Training Credits expire?

  • Yes. Education Service Credits are valid up to one year from the date of purchase and can be applied to anyone at the purchasing company approved by the purchaser or credit approver.

  • Training credits included with some Enterprise Agreements expire at the contract term.

How do I know what type or how many credits I have?

  • If your company has an Enterprise Agreement with NI, your company was likely issued Training Credits. All other credits purchased are Education Service Credits.

  • If you are unsure of the type or total balance of your credits, you can contact your company’s Training Approver or contact us

What is your cancellations or reschedule policy?

  • There will be no fee if you cancel more than 14 days before the start of the course.

  • If you cancel less than 14 days before start, a Cancellation/Reschedule fee may apply.

What is the difference between a Training Membership and Credits?

  • Training memberships provide unlimited access to all NI public classroom and public virtual courses, along with unlimited certification vouchers. This can translate to cost savings if you are planning to take multiple instructor-led courses within one year. A training membership is a one-time purchase that does not renew.
