niFgen Allocate Waveform VI
Installed With: NI-FGENSpecifies the size of a waveform up front so that it can be allocated in onboard memory before loading the associated data. Data can then be loaded in smaller blocks with the niFgen Write Waveform (poly) VI.

Note The signal generator must not be in the Generating state when you call this VI. |

Note You must set Output Mode to Arbitrary Waveform or Arbitrary Sequence using the niFgen Configure Output Mode VI before calling this VI. |

Instrument Handle identifies your instrument session. Instrument Handle is obtained from the niFgen Initialize VI, niFgen Initialize With Options VI, or the niFgen Initialize With Channels VI. |

Channel Name specifies the channel that this VI uses. |

Waveform Size specifies the size of the waveform in samples. This value must be an integer multiple of the waveform quantum. Use the Waveform Quantum property or the niFgen Query Arb Waveform Capabilities VI to determine the waveform quantum. |

Instrument Handle Out passes a reference to your instrument session to the next VI. |
