Fuse Replacement
This section explains how to replace the fuse in the NI 4070.
Caution For protection against fire, replace the fuse only with fuses of the same type and rating. Refer to the following table for fuse types.

Replace with the same fuse that is listed on the product. To replace the fuse, complete the following steps.
NI PXI-4070
- Remove all front panel connections from the device.
- Power off the chassis, and remove the device.
- Locate the fuse hold shown in the figure below.

- Insert a screwdriver into the fuse hole. Caution Do not cover the fuse slot on the opposite side of the device with your hand, as doing so may cause injury.
- Gently press the fuse with the screwdriver until one of the fuse clamps releases.
- Locate the fuse slot shown in the figure below.

- Pry the fuse loose from the fuse slot.
- Verify that the fuse is blown by measuring discontinuity across the fuse using another meter.
- Insert a new fuse into the fuse slot as shown in the figure below.

- Gently press the fuse with the screwdriver until both fuse clamps snap the fuse into place.
NI PCI-4070
- Remove all front panel connections from the device.
- Power off the computer, and remove the device.
- Hold the device at the angle shown in the figure below, and locate the fuse holder.

- Insert a screwdriver into the slot on the fuse holder.
- Turn the screwdriver counterclockwise.
- Pull out the fuse holder, and remove the 5 x 20 mm fuse.
- Insert a new fuse into the holder, and slide the holder back into place.
- Turn the fuse holder clockwise until it snaps shut.
