Real-Time Systems and Network Variables

If your real-time application accesses network variables, you must install the LabWindows/CVI Network Variable for RT component to the real-time target. Use the Remote Systems item in the configuration tree in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) to install this item on the target.

To reduce the possibility of network congestion and performance degradation, National Instruments recommends that real-time applications writing to network variables use the Buffered Writer connection type without a data transferred callback.

Note  The LabWindows/CVI Network Variable Library browser functions are not supported on real-time platforms and return appropriate errors.
