To ensure correct functionality, the versions of LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real-Time Module and LabVIEW FPGA Module need to be compatible. If you install a different version of one software component, you must install compatible versions of the other components.

With LabVIEW 2021 and earlier, the year portion of each component must match in the version. For example, LabVIEW 2018 requires LabVIEW Real-Time 2018, and LabVIEW FPGA 2018. However, version compatibility applies to SP1 versions of software only if there was a released SP1 version of the LabVIEW Module.
For example,
You can check the LabVIEW FPGA Module and LabVIEW Real-Time Module download pages to see if there is a SP1 version released for that year.
When installing LabVIEW, LabVIEW Modules and NI drivers on your development computer, the order in which the software is installed is important. Refer to the Getting Started with CompactRIO Hardware and LabVIEW tutorial for more information about software installation, activation, and configuration instructions.
