![]() |
Note Your IT department may have set the group policy for your computer, in which case they will have to enable it for you as described below. |
If no AutoPlay option exists when you right-click the VirtualBench device, an existing group policy may have disabled this feature. The following instructions show how to turn it back on. Note that the instructions require Administrative access.
Windows 10/8.1/8
- Open the Group Policy Editor by entering gpedit.msc in the Run app or Command Prompt (cmd.exe).
- In the left pane, click Local Computer Policy»Computer Configuration»Administrative Templates»Windows Components»AutoPlay Policies.
- In the right pane, double click Turn off AutoPlay.
- In the dialog box that opens, click the Disabled radio button. This is negative logic. Disabling Turn off AutoPlay turns on AutoPlay.
Windows 7/Vista/XP
- Open the Group Policy Editor by entering gpedit.msc in the Start-Run line.
- In the left pane, click Administrative Templates under Local Computer.
- Select System sub-heading.
- In the right pane, double click Turn off AutoPlay.
- In the dialog box that opens, click the Disabled radio button. This is negative logic. Disabling Turn off AutoPlay turns on AutoPlay.
- In the Turn off Autoplay on drop-down menu, select All drives.
