Placing a label or any other object over or partially covering a control or indicator slows down screen updates and can make the control or indicator flicker. Use the Reorder pull-down menu to move objects relative to each other.

Complete the following steps to reorder objects that are stacked on top of each other.

  1. Select the object you want to move.
  2. Select the Reorder pull-down menu.
  3. Select from the following options:
    • Move Forward —Moves the selected object one position higher in the stack.
    • Move Backward —Moves the selected object in the stack one position back in the stack.
    • Move To Front —Moves the selected object in the stack to the top.
    • Move To Back —Moves the selected object in the stack to the back.
Note You also can reroute all existing wires and rearrange all existing objects on the block diagram automatically.

You also can use the following keyboard shortcuts to reorder objects in a stack.

Note The <Ctrl> key in these shortcuts corresponds to the (macOS) <Option> or <Command> key or to the (Linux) <Alt> key.
  • Move Forward —<Ctrl+K>
  • Move Backward —<Ctrl+J>
  • Move To Front —<Ctrl+Shift+K>
  • Move To Back —<Ctrl+Shift+J>
