Finding Your Way in LabVIEW

Learn the parts of the LabVIEW environment and how to navigate through them.

Use the Getting Started window to create new projects from templates and sample projects or to open existing LabVIEW files as soon as you open LabVIEW. You can access resources to expand the capability of LabVIEW and information to help you learn about LabVIEW.

  • 1—Create a new project from a template or sample project.
  • 2—Open an existing project or VI. Try pinning your favorite files so those files are always accessible from the file list.
  • 3—Browse news and resources from NI.
  • 4—Find Drivers and Add-ons
  • 5—Community and Support
  • The Getting Started window disappears when you open an existing file or create a new file, and reappears when you close all open front panels and block diagrams. You can display the window by selecting View » Getting Started Window.
