Complete the following steps before beginning this repair procedure:
  1. Power off your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system by flipping the main disconnect branch breaker to off.
  2. If your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system utilizes a UPS to provide backup power, press the power button on the UPS to power it down.
  3. Disconnect your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system from facility power.

Note NI recommends using a ladder or step-stool to safely access ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 tower lights during replacement.

Equipment

  • 7 mm socket wrench, 1.30 N · m (11.5 in. · lb)
  • 3 mm hex key
  • T20 Torx head screwdriver, 1.30 N · m (11.5 in. · lb)
  1. Assemble the new tower light.
    1. Guide the tower light cable through the central hole of the mounting bracket and the expandable grommet.
    2. Tighten the three nuts to secure the new tower light to the new mounting bracket using the 7 mm socket wrench.

  2. Remove the left side panel of your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system using the 3 mm hex key.
  3. Disconnect the tower light cable from the rack control unit (RCU).

  4. Unscrew the two screws securing the current tower light mounting bracket to the top panel of your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system using the T20 Torx head screwdriver and remove the current tower light, mounting bracket, and expandable grommet from your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system.

  5. Install the new tower light mounting bracket on the top panel of your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system and secure the mounting bracket to your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system by screwing in the two screws using the T20 Torx head screwdriver.
  6. Guide the tower light cable through the hole on the top panel of your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system and snap the expandable grommet into the hole.
  7. Connect the tower light cable to the RCU.
  8. Reinstall the left side panel of your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system using the 3 mm hex key.
Once installation of the new tower light is complete, you can reconnect facility power to your ATE Core Configurations Generation 2 system and power on the rack.
