PCMCIA, 1- or 2-Port Fieldbus Interface Device—The PCMCIA-FBUS is a 1- or 2-port interface that connects FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices to standard notebook PCs. They connect to H1 (31.25 kb/s) networks and run as a Link Master or Basic Device. Applications for these interfaces include portable data logging and field configuration and device/network maintenance. The included NI-FBUS Communications Manager software for Windows and OPC 2.0-compliant servers provides a high-level interface to FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices, so you do not need in-depth knowledge of lower-level Fieldbus protocols. You can use the software in HMI and DCS applications for control and data collection on the Fieldbus.
