Magnetic Levitation Controls Research Plant—The Quanser Magnetic Levitation Experiment is a single-degree-of-freedom electromagnet-based system that allows users to levitate a ball vertically up and down. Students can measure the position of the ball using a photo-sensitive sensor. The Quanser Magnetic Levitation Experiment also includes a current sensor that can measure current inside the electromagnet coil. Educators can use the Quanser Magnetic Levitation Experiment to teach the concepts modeling, linearization, current control, position control, and cascade control.
