This page shows VeriStand Support available for NI Data Acquisition (DAQ) Hardware. Reference this information to ensure you install the correct versions of your development environment, toolkit or module, and drivers during installation or setup, or when upgrading or updating your system or software. Using incompatible versions may result in errors, or missing palettes or functions.
NI VeriStand natively supports Analog I/O and Digital I/O functions with the following types of NI DAQ devices:
All native NI-DAQmx I/O (excluding custom devices or other custom implementations) is in the form of single-point reads except for Analog Input, which can be acquired as waveforms for logging and UI purposes. Finally, more information on supported hardware can be found at VeriStand NI Hardware Support.
For optimum performance, use hardware that supports Hardware-Timed Single Point Sampling Mode. A list of this hardware can be found at Does My DAQ Device Support Hardware-Timed Single Point Sampling Mode?. If your hardware does not support Hardware-Timed Single Point Sampling mode, you can disable this feature in the Device Specification Page within the System Explorer (as shown below):
Note: VeriStand 2010 and greater supports Hardware I/O on both PC and Real-Time targets. However, VeriStand 2009 only natively supports hardware when deploying NI VeriStand to a LabVIEW Real-Time Target.
