There are patches available for the LabVIEW 2013 NI SoftMotion Module and for the LabVIEW 2013 SP1 NI SoftMotion Module. The LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Module 2013 f2 Patch is required for all LabVIEW 2013 NI SoftMotion Module installations and the LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Module 2013 SP1 f1 Patch is required for all LabVIEW 2013 SP1 NI SoftMotion Module installations.
The patches fix an issue that my cause NI SoftMotion to improperly interpret a limit switch. SoftMotion is supposed to react to any limit switch change that is longer than the hardware digital filter. However, in the LabVIEW 2013 and LabVIEW 2013 SP1 NI SoftMotion Modules, limit switche cahnges that are longer than the hardware digital filter but shorter than the RT controller scan rate may be ignored. Typical digital filters are 50 to 200 usec and typical scan rates are 1 to 10 msec.
The patches are also available via Update Service. The LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Module 2013 SP1 f1 Patch will only appear in Update Service if you have already installed LabVIEW 2013 SP1 NI SoftMotion Module. If you have not yet installed LabVIEW 2013 SP1 NI SoftMotion Module, Update Service will update your computer with LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Module 2013 SP1 f1, which is a full installer that includes both LabVIEW 2013 SP1 NI SoftMotion Module and the LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Module 2013 SP1 f1 Patch.
The LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Module 2013 f2 Patch includes the fixes that are in the LabVIEW NI SoftMotion Module 2013 f1 Patch.
