Overview

The following items are notable issues fixed between the release of Package Manager 2023 Q2 and Package Manager 2025 Q1, including additional patches and service packs. If you have an issue ID, you can search this list to validate that the issue has been fixed. This is not an exhaustive list of issues fixed in the current version of Package Manager.

Invalid feed names in config file are read and shown in GUI but fail when used

nipkg.exe does not allow period (.) characters in feed names, as shown below:
nipkg.exe feed-add --name=test.me c:\
Error -125003: The feed name 'test.me' is invalid. Be sure the feed name begins with an alphabetical character and only contains alphanumeric characters, spaces, underscores, and hyphens.
If you attempt to add a feed name in the GUI with an invalid character, the UI displays the following:

However, a user can edit nipkg.ini files and add a feed name that contain invalid characters, and the GUI loads the feeds successfully as shown below:

nipkg.exe also lists the feed as valid after the feeds cache is updated by launching the UI or executing nipkg.exe update.

In addition, when you select a product from the feed with an invalid character, and attempt to install it, an error occurs claiming that the feed doesn't exist, as shown below:

Fix the feed name in the config file.
