NI-VRTS 19.0 and 20.0 Known Issues

Overview

This document contains the NI-VRTS known issues that were discovered before and since the release of NI-VRTS 19.0 and 20.0. Known issues are performance issues or technical bugs that NI has acknowledged exist within this version of the product.

 

Not every issue known to NI appears on this list; it is intended to show the most severe and common issues that you may encounter and provide workarounds when possible. Other technical issues that you may encounter could occur through normal product use or system compatibility issues. For 1 GHz VRTS, Delay and Gain between VDG and VST Is Not Configurable

Individual systems may require adjusting these values depending on cables and system configuration.

For 1 GHz VRTS, PXIe-5840 Calibration Coefficients Are Applied Incorrectly, Resulting in Incorrect Image Rejection and Equalization

This issue results in incorrect gain for measurements using the PXIe-5840 as well as simulation of objects >95m using the PXIe-5840. Updating to NI-VRTS 20.0.1 is essential.

For 1 GHz VRTS, If LO Tuning Requires a Retry before Its PLL Locks, Any Preceding Warnings Will Be Cleared

In Configure.vi, NI-VRTS will make multiple attempts to tune the LOs to the requested frequency and ensure they are locked. If the first attempt does not succeed, any warnings passed on the error wire will be cleared.

For 1 GHz VRTS, No Error is Reported When a PLL Fails to Lock

For VRTS to function properly, multiple phase-locked loops (PLLs) on the VDG and radio head must be locked to their reference input. Prior to NI-VRTS 20.0, if a PLL fails to lock, an error was not reported.

There is currently no known workaround for this issue.

System Configuration API Does Not Update When a 4 GHz VRTS Radio Head Is Added or Removed

This affects MAX, as well as any System Configuration API session in LabVIEW or elsewhere.

Workaround:

To refresh, close and reopen MAX or LabVIEW.
