Unable to set certain baud rates with PXI controller running NI Linux RT

The PXIe Serial Interface Module cannot set certain baud rates when operating with a PXI controller running NI Linux RT. For instance, the PXIe-8431/16 experiences difficulties in configuring a baud rate of 921600, although it successfully handles other baud rates. This issue arises because the Linux RT's baud rate determination relies on the Linux 8250 driver, which may miscalculate "custom" baud rates. It is important to note that this issue does not occur when using Windows and PharLap drivers.

NI-Serial 21.3 release will address this issue for Linux RT, while the 21.5 release will provide a solution for Linux Desktop. This fix is applicable to all PXI(e)-8431/8433 hardware (RS-485) and exclusively for PXIe-8430 (RS-232).
