Legacy features – IO Variables and Functional Blocks – Are Not Supported on PXI LinuxRTIn DeviceNet Legacy example DeviceNet PXI Legacy.lvproj, deployment of 'Master Interface' project item on PXI LinuxRT fails with the error "The deployment plug-in for this item cannot be found. Verify the proper software is installed". On a new project, adding a 'Master Interface' under PXI LinuxRT is not supported and the following message is displayed "A connection could not be established to the specified remote device. Ensure that the device is on and accessible over the network, and that NI DeviceNet software is installed on the real-time target. If the device is a controller, ensure that it is not running in safe mode."
Workaround: IO Variables and Functional blocks are legacy features. Consider switching to DeviceNet VI based solutions instead. Refer to DeviceNet Basic.lvproj example to understand how to use DeviceNet APIs to interact with external devices.
