Overview

The following items are notable issues fixed between the release of NI-HSDIO 20.0 and NI-HSDIO 21.5, including additional patches and service packs. Calling niHSDIO Error Message.vi or the niHSDIO_error_message function can crash when used to return long error descriptions

niHSDIO Error Message.vi and the niHSDIO_error_message function are supposed to truncate the returned error message at 256 characters. Instead of truncating, they might instead cause a program crash.

Workaround:

Do not call niHSDIO Error Message.vi or niHSDIO_error_message on error codes with error descriptions greater than 255 characters.
