Engineers and project leaders responsible for installing and deploying communications intelligence (COMINT) sensor sites typically need to use multiple narrowband radios for capturing all signals in the surroundings. However, it’s complex to install and maintain multiple radios, especially at remote sensor sites. Using many radios creates a significant volume of data that must be streamed and managed. As more radios are deployed to cover additional frequency bands, costs escalate. Together with NI Partner Novator Solutions, we offer a solution that meets the following requirements:
Maximize the likelihood of capturing critical electromagnetic signals
Minimize extraneous data processing and storage
Reduce the need for scanning and replace traditional narrowband receivers
Enables monitoring of up to 960 MHz aggregated bandwidth (noncontiguous) between 2 MHz and 6 GHz with high dynamic range and sensitivity
Each of the 6,144 digital downconverters (DDCs) is individually configurable and can be reconfigured in real time, including center frequency, bandwidth, and gain
Extracts only interesting signals, reducing the data throughput and computation power needed for analysis, decoding, and demodulation
Ships fully tested and installed, with documentation, licenses, and software installers, such as drivers and debugging software
Novator Solutions develops FPGA-based software defined radio instruments. Offering turnkey channelization, analysis, wideband recording, and RF signal playback solutions, Novator Solutions is an NI Application Solution Partner and 2016 NI Alliance Partner of the Year in the EMEIA region.
