Sample Clock Timebase Signal
The AI or DI Sample Clock Timebase signal is divided down to provide a source for SampleClock. SampleClockTimebase can be generated from external or internal sources. SampleClockTimebase is not available as an output from the backplane.
Using an
Internal Source
To use Sample Clock with an internal source, specify the signal source and the polarity of the signal. Use the following signals as the source:
- AI/DI Sample Clock
- AO/DO Sample Clock
- Counter n Internal Output
- Frequency Output
- Change Detection Output
The name of terminal using the Sample Clock Timebase task can be queried using the Sample Clock Timebase Terminal Property.
Several other internal signals can be routed to Sample Clock. Refer to the Device Routing in MAX topic in the NI-DAQmx Help or the LabVIEW Help for more information.
Using an
External Source
You can route the following signals as Sample Clock:
- Any PFI terminal
- Analog Comparison Event (an analog trigger)
You can sample data on the rising or falling edge of Sample Clock.
Routing DI
Sample Clock to an Output Terminal
You can route Sample Clock to any output PFI terminal. The PFI circuitry inverts the polarity of Sample Clock before driving the PFI terminal.
