Assembling the TS-15010

This procedure walks you through assembling the TestScale components for the TS-15010, including the backplane, core module, and I/O modules.

Note Refer to your backplane Safety, Environmental, and Regulatory Information document for environmental guidelines, electromagnetic compatibility notices, safety requirements, and additional information.

Installing the Modules

Align and affix the module connectors to their corresponding backplane connectors inside the TS-15010 fixture. Refer to the Positioning Your TestScale Modules topic for additional information.

Affixing the Front Panel

Attaching the Front Panel

Before affixing the front panel, note each module position. The core module must always be positioned in the top left slot (Core Slot/slot C). Serial number labels are provided in the module kits to identify modules on the cable or the assembly. Refer to the Positioning Your TestScale Modules topic for additional information.

  1. Align the mounting holes of the front panel to the corresponding mounting holes on the modules.
  2. Insert and tighten the standoffs to the corresponding mounting holes on the modules to fasten the front panel to the modules in the assembly.
Note Tighten the standoffs to 0.60 N · m (5.0 lb · in) of torque.

Attaching the Center Panel (Two-Unit Configuration)

For two-unit configurations within the test rack, you will need to attach a center support panel to secure the two units together.

  1. Align the mounting holes of the center support panel to the corresponding mounting holes on the joining sides of the backplane.
  2. Insert and tighten the provided screws to fasten the center support panel to the backplane.
Note Tighten the screws to 0.60 N · m (5.0 lb · in) of torque.

Attaching the Rear Mounting Brackets

  1. Align the mounting holes of the rear mounting bracket to the corresponding mounting holes on the outer side of the backplane.
  2. Insert and tighten the provided screws to fasten the rear mounting bracket(s) to the backplane.
Note Tighten the screws to 0.60 N · m (5.0 lb · in) of torque.
