Storing and Forwarding Test Data

Store offline test data on a client to back up data or insure against network disruptions. The NI SystemLink Test Monitor Client plugin for TestStand stores test data locally and forwards this data to the server whenever a network connection is available.

Refer to the following table to determine the conditions under which you want your client to store data and forward it to Test Monitor.
Goal What to do
Store all test data on the client regardless of connection status, memory consumption, and storage space. Automatically forward this data in batches whenever the client is connected to the server.
  1. Open TestStand on the managed system you want to store offline data during network disruptions.
  2. Select Configure » Result Processing.
  3. For NI SystemLink Test Monitor Client, click Options .
  4. Check Enable Storing and Forwarding of Test Data and select Always.
  5. Click OK.
Store test data on the client only when the client is disconnected from the server; for example, during a network interruption. Automatically forward this data to the server when the client reconnects to it.
  1. Open TestStand on the managed system you want to store offline data during network disruptions.
  2. Select Configure » Result Processing.
  3. For NI SystemLink Test Monitor Client, click Options .
  4. Check Enable Storing and Forwarding of Test Data and select Only When Disconnected From Server.
  5. Click OK.
Maintain optimal memory usage and storage availability regardless of losing offline data. Use the default configuration of the plugin.
