Converting Calibration Kit Characterizations to SNP Format
The S-Parameter Measurements API and InstrumentStudio measurement panel requires calibration kit characterization data in the SNP file format. To use Keysight calibration kits with the S-Parameter Measurement API and InstrumentStudio S-parameter measurement panel, use the Calibration Kit SNP File Creator tool that is installed with S-Parameter Measurement Library to convert *.xkt files to SNP format (.s1p or .s2p).
-
Launch the Calibration Kit SNP File Creator, located at <Program
Files>\National
Instruments\SPML\Calibration_Kit_SNP_File_Creator.exe.
Note You can copy the tool from the directory location and run it from any location on your machine.
- In the Path to xkt file area click … and navigate to the folder containing the *.xkt file(s) to convert, or enter the path directly in the text box.
-
(Optional) If you do not have a *.xkt file, you can directly
enter the frequency coefficients of the coaxial calibration coefficient
model:
- In the Cal Standard Configuration section, select the type of standard for which you are creating an SNP file.
- Enter a coefficient value in Start Frequency, End Frequency, Number of Frequencies, and Frequency Ramp Type.
-
In the Data Based Definition Frequency Selection, select
the frequencies used to create the SNP file for cal standards that have a data
based definition:
Value Description Frequencies from xkt File Outputs an SNP file that contains the frequencies to align with the selected standard in the xkt file, and ignores frequencies specified in the SNP File Configuration section. Frequencies From SNP File Configuration Outputs an SNP file containing the frequencies specified in the SNP File Configuration section by using interpolation on the values contained in the *.xkt. - In the Directory for Generated snp Files area, click … and navigate to the folder where you want to store the generated SNP files, or enter the path directly in the text box.
- Click Generate SNP Files to start the conversion.
