Logic Families for Generation

With the NI 6555/6556, you may use logic families to configure the voltage levels of the PFI 1, PFI 2, PFI 4/DDC CLK OUT, PFI 5/STROBE, and DIO <0..23> channels with the settings shown in the following table.

NI-HSDIO Logic Family Generation Voltage Low Generation Voltage High
5.0V Logic 0.0 V 5.0 V
3.3V Logic 0.0 V 3.3 V
2.5V Logic 0.0 V 2.5 V
1.8V Logic 0.0 V 1.8 V
1.5V Logic 0.0 V 1.5 V
1.2V Logic 0.0 V 1.2 V

On the NI 6555/6556, you can configure the logic families, independently, on a per-channel basis. On a single channel, you do not need to set the generation logic family and the acquisition logic family to the same value. Refer to the Logic Families (Acquisition) topic for more information about logic families for acquisition operations.

You can also configure custom voltage levels for your operation using the Data Voltage Custom Levels instance of the niHSDIO Configure Voltage polymorphic VI or the niHSDIO_ConfigureDataVoltageCustomLevels function. This VI/function does not configure the tristate or termination voltage level. Refer to the Tristate Voltage topic for more information about tristate and termination voltage. Refer to the NI PXIe-6555/6556 Specifications for the accuracy of the logic family settings.
