Measuring Proximity
Proximity is the distance between two objects. An eddy current proximity probe is a transducer that uses changes in voltage to measure proximity. Eddy current proximity probes use a high-frequency radio signal to convert voltage to a proximity measurement. Measurements are recorded as milimeters, microns, mVolts/mil and Volts/mil where a mil is 1/1000 of an inch.
