I get a MAX Database Connection error when I launch MAX
There are numerous issues that may cause this error. Complete the following steps to troubleshoot the error.
- Check your firewall and antivirus settings. You may need log in as an administrator to unblock MAX and the NI System Web Server.
- Ensure that the NI Configuration Manager service is started.
- Log in as a user with administrative privileges.
- Select Start»Control Panel»Administrative Tools»Services.
- Right-click the NI Configuration Manager service and select Properties from the drop-down menu.
- Make sure that the service status is Started. If it is not, use the Start button to start the service.
- Restart MAX.
- If the NI Configuration Manager service does not appear in the Services list, repair the MAX installation.
- Select Start»Control Panel»Add or Remove Programs.
- Select National Instruments and click Change/Remove.
- Select NI Measurement & Automation Explorer from the list and click Repair.
