Distributing Executables

You can bundle the LabWindows/CVI Runtime with a Windows installer using the Edit Installer Drivers & Components tab or with a package installer using the Edit Package Dependencies tab

Minimum System Requirements

To use an executable or DLL that depends on the LabWindows/CVI Runtime, you must have the following:

• A personal computer using a Pentium 4/M or equivalent microprocessor
• Microsoft operating systems:
  • Windows 10/8.1¹/7 SP1²
  • Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1²
  • Windows Server 2012 R2¹
  • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1²

  ¹ NI software installs VC2015 Runtime and .NET 4.6.2. Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 require Microsoft updates to support these items. Refer to Microsoft KB2919442 and KB2919355 for more information about how to install these updates.

  ² NI software is signed with a SHA-256 certificate. Windows 7 SP1, Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1, and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 require Microsoft updates to support SHA-256. Refer to Microsoft KB3033929 for more information about how to install this security update.

• 1024 × 768 resolution (or higher) video adapter
• Minimum of 1 GB of RAM, 2 GB recommended
• Free hard disk space equal to 300 MB, plus space to accommodate your executable or DLL and any files the executable or DLL requires

Note  You will need additional hard drive space and memory if the executable or DLL uses the DataSocket Library or ActiveX controls.
