Replacing a Front Panel Object from the Clipboard

Replacing a Front Panel Object from the Clipboard

Complete the following steps to replace a front panel object with an object from the clipboard.

Use the Positioning tool to select the front panel object that will replace the existing control or indicator.
Select Edit»Copy to copy the object to the clipboard.
Use the Positioning tool to select the object that you want to replace.
Select Edit»Paste. LabVIEW pastes the new object in place of the old object.

Note If you replace a control with an indicator, LabVIEW preserves the dataflow direction of the original object and does not change the control to an indicator. If you replace an indicator with a control, LabVIEW does not change the indicator to a control.

This method does not preserve any characteristics of the old object, but the wires remain connected to the object. Right-click an object and select Replace from the shortcut menu to preserve as much information as possible about the original object.
