Creating Template Global Variables
Complete the following steps to create a template you can use to create global variables.
- Create a global variable to include only the front panel objects you want to reuse.
- Select File»Save As to display a file dialog box.
Note If you have already saved the global variable, selecting
File»Save As
displays the
Save As
dialog box instead. Select the
Copy
and
Substitute copy for original
radio buttons and click the
Continue
button to display the file dialog box.
- (Windows) Select Template VIs from the Save as type pull-down menu in the file dialog. (macOS and Linux) Include the template VI file extension .vit.
- Enter the name of the template global variable and click the OK button.

Caution Do not save your own VIs and other files in .llb files installed with LabVIEW. |
