Software Overview

The Inverter Test System Software Suite is a pre-defined set of development environments, instrument drivers, and related toolkits required for creating and executing tests with the ITS-16200.

Test Program Development

NI recommends that you complete introductory courses for VeriStand and MathWorks Simulink® software and review the OPAL-RT Power Electronics Add-On for NI VeriStand User Documentation before you complete any integration or test program development for your Inverter Test System.

Test program development for the ITS-16200 occurs in VeriStand, allowing you to quickly develop, debug, and deploy validation test programs.

Use MathWorks Simulink® software in conjunction with VeriStand to connect Simulink models running on the LinuxRT operating system to the DUT and the high-speed power electronics models running on FPGA targets. You can also use Simulink External Mode to enable interactive model debugging.

The Inverter Test System Software Toolkit adds additional testing tools to VeriStand, providing high-speed Simulink and low-latency FPGA integration, template configurations in VeriStand, and instrument drivers for all NI instruments used with the ITS-16200. The Inverter Test System Software Toolkit also provides templates such as VeriStand projects.

NI Measurement & Automation Explorer

NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) is installed as part of the Inverter Test System Software Suite and allows you to configure instruments, edit instrument and port names, and execute system diagnostics for the ITS-16200.

Refer to the Measurement & Automation Explorer Help, accessible via the Help button in MAX, for more information about using MAX.
