Crash Analysis (OIV)

Crash Analysis (OIV)

Use this dialog box to specify the Occupant Impact Velocity (OIV).

Settings

Time channel Specifies the data channel containing the time values of the signal in seconds.
Acceleration X Specifies the x-channel containing the CFC180 filtered acceleration values in gn (acceleration of gravity).
Acceleration Y Specifies the y-channel containing the CFC180 filtered acceleration values in gn (acceleration of gravity).
Distance head – center of gravity Specifies the distance between the theoretical head and the vehicle center of gravity in meters.
X-distance head – impact surface Specifies the distance between the theoretical head and the theoretical impact surface in x-direction in meters.
Y-distance head - impact surface Specifies the distance between the theoretical head and the theoretical impact surface in y-direction in meters.

Result

DIAdem saves the results in the following variables:

OIVTimeFlight Receives the period of time in seconds during which the impact moves the passengers.
OIVVelocity Receives the impact velocity of the passengers in kilometers per hour.
Note  In addition, DIAdem saves the calculated results and the version number, which is independent of the DIAdem version, in the following custom properties of the input channel. Result~OIV~TimeFlight, Result~OIV~Velocity, and Result~OIV~Version.
Note  The OIVVersion variable receives the algorithm version number, which is independent of the DIAdem version number.
Note  Refer to the standard EN 1317-1, Road Restraint Systems, Part 1: Terminology and General Criteria for Test Methods, for more information about this crash function.
Note  The actual calculation routine does not filter. According to EN 1317-2, Chapter 5.6, the input channels must be filtered with CFC180.
Refer to the descriptions in the Crash Analysis Criteria for further information such as mathematical background, input values, and directives and laws.
If you want to use waveform channels in this dialog box, follow Rule 2.2 for Calculating with Waveform Channels.
To calculate quantity-based in DIAdem, click the Calculate Quantity-Based button on the DIAdem ANALYSIS toolbar. When executing quantity-based calculations, DIAdem checks whether the program can also execute calculations on physical quantities in the same calculation. If DIAdem cannot execute the calculation because the physical quantities are unsuitable, the program displays an error message. Refer to the Help page Calculating Quantity-Based and Non-Quantity-Based in DIAdem for the conditions and rules for quantity-based calculations.
