Methods for Reducing Manufacturing Costs

In microphone tests, sharing reference microphones between DUTs reduces manufacturing costs.

Carefully consider the balance between costs and measurement accuracy. Share reference microphones between DUTs only when the DUTs are close to each other in a DUT assembly, and you can accept the reduced measurement accuracy.

In microphone and speaker tests, sharing modules between audio and acoustics test systems reduces manufacturing costs.

The following figure shows an example where two audio and acoustics test systems share modules and DUTs share reference microphones. Two independent chambers double the number of units tested per hour.
